GaitScan

WHAT IS GaitScan™?

Gaitscan is a state of the art diagnostic tool that has been engineered to allow our therapists to recognise and treat faulty foot function during gait. This may present to us as foot, ankle, knee, hip or lower back pain in our clients.

Hahndorf Physio Gaitscan

WHY IS A GAIT SCAN SO IMPORTANT?

The TOG Gaitscan technology gives us access to incredible data through the 4096 pressure sensors which record information as you walk or run over the Gaitscan hardware. The reporting functions, and static, dynamic and 3D scans allow us to evaluate foot biomechanics like never before, giving us objective information that cannot be obtained with the naked eye. If appropriate, this information can be used for Orthotic prescription. It may be used initially to assess changes which result from treatment. It plays an important part in our management of back and lower limb problems.

Hahndorf Physio Orthotics by Gaitscan
WHAT ARE ORTHOTICS?

Orthotics are devices worn in your shoes that
provide correction to your feet, helping them to
function more efficiently. Poor foot function and
alignment may be the cause of various pains
such as foot pain, hip pain, knee pain and back
pain.
Prescription orthotics may help relieve your pain
by realigning and stabilising the bones in your
feet, restoring your natural walking pattern.
